ROQUEBRUNE-CAP-MARTIN
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is a municipality between Monaco and Menton. In 2018, it had a population of 12,824.
The name means brown rock and comes from the color of the rock on which the old town is built.
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin has several villages and towns; the Old Town with its narrow streets and viewing terrace, Cap Martin peninsula with its stunning view over the sea and Monaco, and the modern seaside resort of Carnolès.
You can easily reach Roquebrune-Cap-Martin by train from Nice and get off either at the station Roquebrune-Cap-Martin or Roquebrune-Carnolès.
Or by car choosing the Upper Cornice (recommended if going to the Old Town), or the Middle Cornice, both are extremely picturesque and beautiful.

Nice and easy walk at Cap-Martin
Take the train to Roquebrune-Carnolès, which takes about 30 minutes from Nice-ville. Then go down to the beach and have a look out to Menton and the mountains at the Italian border.
Then head west along the beach and along the avenue Sir Winston Churchill and you will reach the coastal walk.
Coming around the Cap on the west side, you have a splendid view over Monaco. After almost an hour in a slow walk, you arrive at the Buse Beach where you can have a refreshing swim.
Then take the train back from Roquebrune station.
It’s an easy walk!
Villa Eileen Grey
Villa E-1027, designed by Eileen Grey, a talented Irish designer in the 1920th.
She had an education in interior design, but got the opportunity by her friend Jean Badovici to do the complete architecture of this house.
It’s full of smart and practical solutions for a comfortable life in summertime on the Riviera.
The famous architect, Le Corbusier, regularly lived in the house, and did his own paintings on the white walls, without Eileen’s permission. He also built a small Cottage ” Le Cabanon” and an Atelier in the garden at the neighbouring property.
Possible to visit upon reservation May to October. By train get off at Roquebrune-St-Martin.
The meeting point is at the Exhibition area at the train station.

St. Donat
270 Route de Cannes, Grasse
Situated between Cannes and Grasse and about 40 min. drive from the centre of Nice. Nice diversified landscape. Holes 11 to 15 are going up and down and are rather challenging. It is well maintained even during tough weather conditions. It’s a busy course so count on close to 4h30 to make the 18 holes. The restaurant has a sunny and nice terrasse with a view over hole 9 and 10 and the lake.
Greenfee 72 euros if booking online (85 euros full price).
