Place Garibaldi

Place Garibaldi is the second most important square in Nice. It was built in 1773 and the original name of the square is Piazza Vittorio.
Currently, the square is a meeting place. It’s surrounded by restaurants and cafes in the shade of trees or under the arcades.
In the middle is a monument of Giuseppe Garibaldi.
He was an Italian general, patriot, revolutionary and republican. He contributed to Italian unification and the creation of the Kingdom of Italy.
