Cagnes-sur-Mer is situated 10 km west of Nice and has about 50.000 inhabitants.

Haut de Cagnes is a medieval village of steep and cobbled streets, vaulted passages, flowered staircases, houses that catch your eye, unusual viewpoints, artists’ studios…
It’s classified as a “Historical site” and only 650 inhabitants live there.
It’s dominated by the Medieval castle and a beautiful church.

This part of Cagnes is also called “the fishermen’s village”.
More than 200 years ago, some fishermen from Genoa in Italy came for fishing.
Some of them fell in love with the site and decided to settle there with their families.

It can take 12000 spectators and have 900 boxes for the horses.
