BIOT
Biot has about 10.000 inhabitants and the old city is nicely situated on top of a small hill. If you come by car, it takes 30 min from Nice. Take to the left when arriving at the village and then immediately to the right. There is a parking in the souterrain going down.
La Verrerie de Biot
5 Chem. des Combes, 06410 Biot
The glass factory, La verrerie de Biot, makes beautiful glassware. They are situated below the village.
Since 1956 they have been producing this glass with bubbles, which actually started with a mistake.
The site in Biot has a factory, a shop, a museum and a gallery.
The glass workers are openly blowing and working the glass. The products are rather expensive, but they also have a more affordable collection in plastique called “The swimming pool Line”.

Glassware
Old village, Biot
You can find the famous glassware in some shops in the old village at a more interesting price than in the factory shop made from smaller factories in the village.

Maison Gabel
28 Rue Saint-Sébastien, Biot
One of my favorite shops sells beautiful provençale fabrics, table tops, towels etc. and colorful ceramics.

Café Brun
44 Impasse Saint Sébastien, Biot
The best lunch place, managed by a very nice American lady and her French husband. They serve delicious food at good prices and it’s open all year round.
St. Donat
270 Route de Cannes, Grasse
Situated between Cannes and Grasse and about 40 min. drive from the centre of Nice. Nice diversified landscape. Holes 11 to 15 are going up and down and are rather challenging. It is well maintained even during tough weather conditions. It’s a busy course so count on close to 4h30 to make the 18 holes. The restaurant has a sunny and nice terrasse with a view over hole 9 and 10 and the lake.
Greenfee 72 euros if booking online (85 euros full price).
Ambiance and service – nice

I like – the cute little palm tree indicating the 135 metres to the green.
