ANTIBES
On the Riviera you can play golf all year around. The courses are situated between the sea and the mountains.
In wintertime, you are surrounded by the snowy mountains, in spring you are following nature waking up, during summer it can sometimes be too hot and the autumn is so beautiful with all the colours.
I play golf for fun and the pleasure of being outdoors in beautiful surroundings. So for me a nice golf course is a pretty environment in a friendly atmosphere.
I don’t care so much about the technical difficulties but I like variety. And it is nicer if the green fee is reasonable.
To get a good price, check out for ladies/mens day, book online, buy a book or a golf pass.
Le Séjour Café
11, rue Grimaldi, Nice
This is one of my top favorites. The next door restaurant, Mon petit café, is very similar and they both serve French food in a new, creative way. They are managed by a brother and sister.
perfectly nice:
• food of good quality and well prepared every time
very nice:
• reasonable prices
• friendly and flexible staff
• good service
I like – The atmosphere like at home
Bistro d’Antoine
27, rue de la Préfecture, Nice
This genuine French bistrot is a pearl in the Old city and one of the restaurants that is often recommended and very popular.

• food is perfectly cooked and presented in a nice way
nice:
• good wines to reasonable prices
nice but:
•very busy in weekends
• situated on a busy tourist street
I like – the kitschy decoration
Bar des Oiseaux
5, rue St. Vincent, Nice
Modern and trendy place in the old city.
very nice:
• original and tasty food
• good value for money
nice but:
• Very busy on weekends and it is recommended to make a reservation.
I like – creative and simple dishes
La Grande Bastide
761 Chem. des Picholines, Châteauneuf-Grasse
40 min. drive from Nice centre, this golf course is beatifully situated at the foot of the village Chateauneuf de Grasse. The course is well keept all year long.
It’s not too physical, you do it in less than 4h. But still fun and diversified. The greens are often higher than the fairway which makes it difficult to roll on and needs a perfect pitch. Very good and clear signs where to go for the next hole. Greenfee 44-85 euros. Ladies day on Mondays.
Ambiance and service – nice but
Quality and maintenance – nice
Price/quality -nice
Nice to play – very nice
I like – I’ve done Hole in One at hole 13
St. Donat
270 Route de Cannes, Grasse
Situated between Cannes and Grasse and about 40 min. drive from the centre of Nice. Nice diversified landscape. Holes 11 to 15 are going up and down and are rather challenging. It is well maintained even during tough weather conditions. It’s a busy course so count on close to 4h30 to make the 18 holes. The restaurant has a sunny and nice terrasse with a view over hole 9 and 10 and the lake.
Greenfee 72 euros if booking online (85 euros full price).
Ambiance and service – nice
Quality and maintenance – very nice

I like – the cute little palm tree indicating the 135 metres to the green.
